How do you know what size to order?

To choose the correct size, measure your dog's back length (from the base of the neck to the base of the tail) and chest circumference (around the body, behind the front legs) and compare with the size chart. Approximate weight can vary based on breed. We recommend using a fabric measuring tape if you have one, which is easiest to get an accurate measurement. If your dog is between sizes, we recommend opting for the bigger. You don’t want your BellyGuard to be too snug on a healing incision or on irritated skin. Plus, two layers of snaps make for an adjustable, customizable fit.

Do you have to pull the tail through a hole like some diapers, or does it just snap on each side of the tail?

This worked great as a second layer of preventing my pup from licking her belly incision. I used it with an around the neck recovery collar, mainly at night and when I had to leave her alone during the day. Washable which was a bonus.

Worked great!

Unlike others I had tried, this onesie stayed in place and did not stretch. My Cavalier has a long torso, which is normal shape for a cavi and it fit her great

Unlike others I had tried, this onesie stayed in place and did not stretch. My Cavalier has a long torso, which is normal shape for a cavi and it fit her great after her spay surgery. It offers complete belly and whole body coverage, but allows plenty of room so not to interfere with the wound area. I did however make a couple small cuts along the neck line band, it seemed too snug for comfort. The snaps on the back side are adjustable for a good fit if one needs another inch of length. Highly recommend this onsie and it washed so nicely without shrinkage. Ten stars!!!

How nice the small size fit perfectly.

This was perfect for my dog. It fit well, made potty breaks easy, and kept his neuter wound completely covered. One thing to be aware of is that there is a button

This was perfect for my dog. It fit well, made potty breaks easy, and kept his neuter wound completely covered. One thing to be aware of is that there is a button on the front around the dog's neck, so for potty breaks, you can unclip the back and secure the flap that goes around the tail to it. I didn't notice that right away and it's extremely helpful. My dog did not have any noticeable discomfort in this shirt, it was easy to clean, and he definitely liked it way better than the cone, which I'm not even convinced would have protected him because he quickly learned to scratch the wound with his paw.

Great Alternative to the post op E-collar

We were given the plastic E-collar after our dogs spaying. It was so hard for our dog to get comfortable. We then purchased the blowup doughnut which was better

We were given the plastic E-collar after our dogs spaying. It was so hard for our dog to get comfortable. We then purchased the blowup doughnut which was better but still frustrating for our dog. I wish we had this Post Surgical Onsie at the time of discharge from the vets office. It was a safe choice and still keep our dog from getting near the surgical site. And allowed her to recover more comfortably.

This is the only one of the three we bought that we used. The double snaps on the back end were the key to fitting her and keeping her stitches covered up. Definitely recommend!

Perfect for my dog that has allergies

Size chart was on spot. Prevents toenails which from being outside get bacteria etc. from scratching her side. Vets recommend a t shirt this works !
