My cat Maddy has an issue with her digestion that leads her to occasionally have “pukey days”. Even with fine tuning her diet and adding Miralax into her wet food, it still happens. If she has one of these days, I just drop a quarter of the pill into a small amount of her favorite food(around a tablespoon) and she takes it with no problem. Do not crush and mix in the pill. It tastes yucky and essentially makes the food uneatable. Occasionally it makes her a bit on the lethargic side and it takes a few hours to get her appetite back. But, better that, than her suffering through a day of nausea. It’s a steroid so long term constant use can be tricky, but using it once every week or so is fine to my knowledge.

I have used Cerenia for a little over 3 years and it works very well. I have noticed others stating how hard it is to get cats to take the pill, and it can be very hard, but there is some things you need to know and understand about Cerenia. Once you know these things, it may help you better get your cat to ingest taking the pill. #1. Cerenia is a very bitter pill and to also smells bitter to a cat and dog. In order to mask the smell, you MUST hide it into foods that have a very strong smell. and #2. Hide it in food that had a strong taste. Remember, you can CRUSH the pill up and mix it into any of their strong smelling and strong tasting treats and mix very well and leave it sit for about 30 mins before having them eat. Also make sure it is treats that are very wet like something that has gravy. Or in my case I mixed into a lil Soup, I just strained the meat piece out of it. You can also place the pill in a small, tiny ball of butter... if your cat or dog likes butter, you can do this. But make sure you put near the back of their throat if you do that. Good luck and Cerenia works well in spite of cats not wanting to eat it.

1/4 dase for a cat with kidney issues - it's working really well

Caveat for anyone having to cut this pill , you lose the benefit of the coating and it obviously tastes nasty. Make sure you wrap it and don't let them chew. Needless

Don't have to think about reordering!

I'm so happy I have this medication on Autoship! I never run out and Chewy always gets it to me in time. If I get behind, I can always have them ship it early,

Very Difficult to Administer to a Fussy Cat

I somehow managed to get the first 16 doses from my Vet (1/4 pill a day with 4 pills in a pack) into my cat. I mixed it with food, tried to "hide" it in Catlax

I somehow managed to get the first 16 doses from my Vet (1/4 pill a day with 4 pills in a pack) into my cat. I mixed it with food, tried to "hide" it in Catlax gel, Hairball Remedy gel, administered one right into her mouth and she started foaming, etc. Bottom line is it worked to stop her daily vomiting, but it was a struggle to get it into her. I got my first refill from Chewy and now my kitty is refusing to take this 1/4 pill no matter what I try. I guess she has figured out all my tricks and she refuses to eat any food/treat/gel that contains the tiniest trace of this pill. I am wasting food as well as the medicine. I hope it works better for others.

Our poor little chihuahua suffers from the worst motion sickness and will always vomit in the car no matter how short or long the trip. Unfortunately for him, we like to travel and take him with. Now we just pop him one of these about an hour before we leave and haven’t had a single accident since.
