I adopted a six-year-old Doberman, she came with a few months of preventative medication. When it came time to refill it, I faced a dilemma. As a frugal person, I knew my new vet would require a routine office visit, and a office fee, just to write a prescription. However, her previous vet had just seen her, and the test results were still valid. This meant I could potentially get the prescription without an unnecessary co-pay. I contacted Chewy to see if I could note the account and get the prescription approved by the old vet. The representative was skeptical, saying it was a "pickle" since the medical records didn't have my name on them. They didn't think it would be approved, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. I edited my Chewy order to hyphen use my dog's previous name and new name, supplied the old vet's contact information, and emailed the old vet directly. In the email, I asked for their approval and explained that the dog's shot record had a note about her adoption. And it worked! The old vet approved the script, and I even sent a follow-up thank you. I know my dog will see my new vet soon enough, but paying an office visit fee when she had literally just been seen felt like a completely unnecessary expense. I love the convince of ordering online and in this case I was able to save money on an office fee and the cost of the preventative.

Pretty sure my dogs think everything I give them is a treat. And Interceptor make it so my dogs have no clue they are receiving their heartworm protection. My dogs gobble it up every time!
