Where is the l-lysine for this sourced?

Answer by ChewyApr 12, 2020
Tomlyn sources their ingredients from mainly the United States and Canada, however some raw materials are sourced from China as that is the only location to obtain those raw materials.

How big is a "scoop?" Does a scoop come with the product?

Answer by ChewyFeb 25, 2020
A scoop is equivalent to 1/8 of a teaspoon (0.52 grams). A scoop is included in the tub.

Why does the back of mine say only 1 scoop for cats 6months and older? But same 0.52gs per scoop

Answer by ChewyAug 14, 2019
It's directed that for kittens under 6 months get 1/2 scoop given 2 times daily. For cats 6 months and older get 1 rounded scoop given 2 times daily.

Can it be mixed with water and poured on dry food?

Answer by ChewyOct 05, 2022
This supplement is recommended to be mixed into dry or wet food. It is not recommended to mix in water.

My foster cat came to me with continual eye discharge. I gave it lots of time, thinking maybe she was stressed in new environment, but nothing changed. Finally decided to try this, even tho I couldn't find good research on its benefits, so I was skeptical. BUT.... it worked for Pippi! It took a good 3 weeks but it worked!! No more eye discharge. At some point I'll stop giving it to her and see what happens... hoping her body can manage without it, but if not, it's worth the cost. I can sprinkle it on top of her wet food and she has no problem with it.

I bought a more expensive lysine supplement that I sprinkled on cat food for one semi-feral cat that avoids people and he ate the food everyday, it cleared up his very intense eye discharge and he started looking more healthy. I bought this one because of the price. No matter how hungry he is, he won’t eat the food sprinkled with this one. It smells like rotten fish to me, so maybe he thinks it isn’t safe to eat.

I care for my four indoor kitties and a whole slew of outdoor cats, including 15 kittens that were born in April. All of them inside and out were sneezing and had runny eyes. The outdoor kittens were in especiallybad shape with blood red eyes. A neighbor told me about this product and I started mixing it in wet food for every cat that I feed. They have all recovered nicely, especially the outdoor ones who, in my opinion, could have lost eyesight. I will continue to give this to all of the cats I take care of just to make sure their immune systems are strong.

Our cat has responded very well to this food, and it is palatable to him. I would give it 5 stars based on that. But it can only be ordered in 24-can cases. He doesn't eat that much of it per day. So by the time we get to the last 6 or 8 cans of the case (1/4 to 1/3 of the order), they are going bad and he won't eat it. It costs about $4 a can, and we have to throw away the last 4, 6 or 8 cans of every case. Not good. Why can't Chewy sell us half-cases of just 12 cans?

My cat doesn’t notice it in her food. She has FIV and is on steroids long term. I like to think this is helping her stay maybe a little healthier with her suppressed immune system. She hasn’t had a respiratory flare up since taking it but hard to say if it’s been from the steroids or the supplement.

I purchased this as a new kitten is getting over a respiratory virus & is no longer on the prescribed medication. I have been mixing it in mainly with a broth, but it works in pate as well! I’ve been sharing it with my other cats too because I figure it can’t hurt, & none of them seem to mind.

My cat had a cold when I first adopted her and then shortly after she started getting watery eyes, with a clear discharge. The vet recommended this and I put it once a day on top of her food and it’s been almost 10 months since her eyes have been fine.

Chewy has it all

My elderly cat has eyes that are constantly weeping. Thisa immune support supplement helps and Chewy has it so I don't have to go chasing around to find it elsewhere

I have used this now for a couple of months about to order my 3rd jar; I care for domestic and feral cats. One feral had a cold for 6 months.... used this daily and before my 2nd order the cat, Little Back Cat, was healed. it has a runny nose, sneezed and was breathing conjested.... healed. Also, anecdotally, I believe the cats are more energetic and in better health.

I got this due to my cat having a relapse of feline herpes. The vet thought she was a "chronic sniffler" and recommended it. She love it and in only a week her sniffles are gone! She's very picky but as long as I mix it up with a wet treat, she eats it every morning!
