Indication

Trifexis prevents heartworm disease. Trifexis kills fleas and prevents flea infestations, and treats and controls adult hookworm, roundworm and whipworm infections in dogs and puppies 8 weeks and older and 5 pounds or more.

Important Safety Information

The use of ivermectin at higher than FDA-approved doses at the same time as Trifexis can result in serious side effects. Treatment with fewer than three monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Prior to administration of Trifexis, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection. Use with caution in breeding females. The safe use of Trifexis in breeding males has not been evaluated. Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. The most common adverse reactions reported are vomiting, decreased activity, itching, decreased appetite, and diarrhea. To ensure heartworm prevention, observe your dog for one hour after administration. If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, redose with another full dose. Puppies less than 14 weeks of age may experience a higher rate of vomiting. For complete safety information, please see Trifexis product label or ask your veterinarian.

Called my vet to confirm that I was reordering another 6 months supply of Triflexis for my 3 dogs. I placed the order and Chewy texted that my resuppy for Dante had been denied. At about the same time the vets office called to tell me of the denial because Dante probably had gained weight since they last saw him. It only took one more phone call to the pharmacy to change the dosage for Dante. I’m happy to say that the transaction went smoothly and all 3 dogs got their medication in the same shipment. Thank you Chewy!

I have been using Trifexis for my dog since he was a puppy. I like it because it not only prevents flea infestations it also prevents worms, all in one pill. I prefer pills over topical because its cleaner and more fool proof in terms of application. Make sure your dog doesn't have an empty stomach. Note: you may find live fleas still on your pet, but they will never have an infestation. The fleas die shortly after biting your pup so any live fleas you find most likely just landed and have yet to bite your dog. Also my dog absolutely hates the taste or smell of trifexis. He can sniff it out of any food I try to hide it. Some say letting the pill 'air out' for like 15-30mins helps but I just crush the pills and put them in blank capsules. Trifexis says you can crush pills, but the whole pill must be administered. So no buying a 40lbs pill and splitting it to try and stretch it for your 20lbs dog.

Best flea meds

Been using this brand on several different dogs for years and they never once had a flea on them or any parasites/ worms. The pills are big and my dog hates taking

Been using this brand on several different dogs for years and they never once had a flea on them or any parasites/ worms. The pills are big and my dog hates taking any kind of meds but especially this one, so beat thing to do is break it into 4 pieces in a bowl, then take a regular cereal spoon and push down on each piece so it crushes it and I do it a few times til it turns to a powder form. Then I add some wet food, mix it up good and my dog will eat it all no problem. Crushing it to powder helps digest faster and hides the taste/smell that a lot of dogs don't like. But the medicine is soo good and worth the extra steps and has been around for a long time.

Convenient 6month supply

Ordered this and with the feedback from Chewy found out they have to make contact with the vet directly or have the physical RX (can't accept scanned prescription)

Ordered this and with the feedback from Chewy found out they have to make contact with the vet directly or have the physical RX (can't accept scanned prescription). Was able to receive and give to our dog in time. He ate it without trouble, seems to like the flavor and so far has been working well to prevent fleas all summer.

There is nothing amazing about this product other than it protects my dog from fleas and internal parasites. However, my dog hates the taste of Trifexis and if she smells it I have to force it down her throat, I wish the manufacturer could make it palatable for the dogs, I have two other dogs and they don't care for the taste or smell of it, either.

This is a product I've trusted for years. So easy to order.

Love that it is delivered right to my door instead of the long drive to the vet's office. Fantastic product I trust because my dog's life depends on it!

delivery time was outrageous.

It was exposed to very high temperatures during the very long trip around the country and rendered it useless.

Ineffective

So far, it hasn’t seemed to make a difference. On the plus side, my border collie did not have an allergic reaction to it which he has had with other flea prevention
