does this Vetri probiotic contain a prebiotic? I believe I read someplace that it did, but since I've been researching many of these products I've lost track of which do and which don't. Thanks

This supplement contains both prebiotics and probiotics.

Does this require refrigeration?

It's recommended to store these capsules in a cool, dry place at a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Refrigeration after opening is suggested.

I understand that many probiotic products do not survive the stomach acid to actually get to the large intestine where they do their work. What protection is there for the beneficial bacteria in this product to get past the stomach alive to the large intestine.

not as effective as I'd like

I have 15 and 25 lb dogs and they often get loose or runny stools on their diet of rice/grain mixtures, spring greens and chicken or eggs. I've seen their stool

I have 15 and 25 lb dogs and they often get loose or runny stools on their diet of rice/grain mixtures, spring greens and chicken or eggs. I've seen their stool become more solid when I give them human probiotics but mine are expensive and not the same species as those in dogs'. So I've been looking for the list of probiotics that contain the species that are in dogs.. but just because they are listed doesn't mean they are actually in there and that they are alive and working. These seemed to help my dog get better stool texture and increase appetite for my dogs only sometimes and when I gave 2 to my 25 lb dog. So I would say for every 15 lbs, they need one capsule. Considering the dosage, these are expensive and they don't work as well as Herb Smith Microflora. I need to compare prices now for what I get with Herb Smith.
